the wedding of jeanne and paul

Today it was Jeanne and Paul’s turn to be Mr. and Mrs. This one was especially fun for us as we got to be in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton which was our daughter, Tara’s church for her wedding last September. We hadn’t been there since so it was a little emotional rehashing “our” day too. Jeanne lives in a beautiful home in Sag Harbor. We met her there getting her makeup and hair done.

Jeanne getting her make up donethe girls and her mom lacing her up!get those ribbons straight girls! LOL

Things got a little off schedule with timing and all, but we took it in stride and got all the required “shots” accomplished. I didn’t want to miss any of them as their property was spectacular for photographs, with perennial borders and arbors galore, not to mention a fantastic porch on the front of their house.

Jeanne outside her parent's homeevery spot was picture perfect

It fit perfectly with Jeanne’s country themed wedding. Her dress was a beautiful, light silk confection that just fell about her body like it was custom made for her. The matching veil was encrusted with pearls and crystals that shone in the sunlight whenever she moved. Breathtaking!

her crystal encrusted veil, gorgeous

This has been quite the year for wedding parties and their’s was no exception with 13 girls if you include the two flower girls, one maid of honor, one matron of honor and nine bridesmaids, whew! They looked equally gorgeous in mint green silk chiffon gowns. Not to be outdone, the groomsmen and best man were equally handsome in their black tuxes and cream silk vests. Today was a hot day with not a cloud in the sky. Being that Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church is so old, it is not air conditioned, so that made for one hot ceremony. I was told by Bill of Wildrose Video, our videographer as well, that our day was equally as hot, LOL, although I don’t quite remember it being so. Maybe when you are working vs. being a guest, it’s a little different, LOL. Anyway, Fr. Jeff gave a touching ceremony.

Then it was off to Cooper’s Beach which was packed with beachcombers.

arriving at Coopers!

But they all clapped and cheered as the happy couple followed us down to the water. The wedding party, specifically the guys, ribbed me about certain poses and kneeling, which is par for the course. I am tough skinned, so I don’t let them get to me.

Then when all the shots were taken we bid goodbye to the crowds, grabbed an ice cream bar from the concession and headed out to the Bourne Mansion in Oakdale for a fabulous affair.

outside in the back of Bourne Mansion

Each room was set with candles and photos of loved ones framed and set about the many mantels. On the front table as you entered the mansion, was a wonderful centerpiece filled with pink and cream roses, hydrangeas, and ivy and underneath it sat goblets of strawberry infused champagne.

strawberry infused champagne anyone?

The same table later in the evening was turned around to now hold a goodbye treat of chocolate chip cookies wrapped in cellophane with a pretty green tag and ribbon. They were a huge hit with guests as we photographed the bags as people took them home.

The night was danced away by the sounds of Timepiece, their band. One of the members of Timepiece, John, was also one of our grooms and it’s always nice to see him and listen to their great sounds.

A special highlight of the night was a spotlight dance dedicated to Paul’s grandparents, Myra and Henry, who were married 60 some art years and are still romancing and going strong. We loved chatting with Henry about his family who came from Abruzzo in Italy and their history with the opera and his fabulous stories, which also happened to be Jeanne and Paul’s honeymoon destination, Italy.

Paul's grandparents do the Anniversary Dance

They are going to be touring Rome, Venice, Florence, Sienna, and Lake Cuomo which should promise to be a trip of a lifetime. (Hey, if you see George Clooney, one could wish, right, at his home on Lake Cuomo, say hi from me, LOL). To see more of Jeanne and Paul’s wonderful day, please click here.

keeley gets a baby brother, lachlan!

As you might recall if you are a frequent visitor to our website (many thanks if you are :-) ) , we did a portrait sitting at their home last May of Keeley. Keeley is the daughter of a wedding couple we did way back in July of ‘03, click here to view. Well, Aly and Kieran have been busy little bees and now have a son, Lachlan.

Lachlan and his head of curlsanyone for dress up?Buddy on his truck

He is as adorable and precious as his sister. They both have these heads of beautiful, blond curls. And, Aly is pregnant and due this November with baby number 3! It is a big secret as to what sex this one will be, but I can assure you, it will be just as gorgeous. We are doing Aly’s sister’s wedding this coming September so you can catch the kids then as well. Anyway, without further chit chat, I present you with a few of our fav’s from the sitting. Aly always provides the cutest props and clothing for her children, so it was a cinch.

the wedding of kristin and james

So our last of three weddings this past weekend was at the beautiful Shinn Vineyard out in Mattituck. Kristin and James were friends of Allison and Gino Martuscello back in ‘05. They were there and looking wonderful, I might add. It is always so nice to see our couples moving on with their married life. Meanwhile, back to the Shinn Vineyard, we had never seen it nor worked at it before,

sign on the road directing gueststhe tent set among the fields of grapes

but we were excited as we had told Kristin and James when they came to book us last May, that their type of wedding is what we feel we do best, the tent wedding. We just love the ambiance of being outside, especially when it is near the water or near a vineyard which in this case, it was. It is on a lovely, quiet, country lane. The only sounds you hear are those of the farm equipment in the distance plowing the fields. They had a beautiful day which always makes you more appreciative when it is this kind of wedding. It brought memories back to us as our own daughter, Tara, (see September of ‘07 blog, shameless plug I know, LOL) had a tent wedding last September. Kristin and James were staying in the private residence that they rent out as a B & B as well as, their ceremony and cocktail hour which is held back behind the rows of grapes under a separate tent. We arrived just to see Kristin greet us at the front door with hair and makeup done and veil neatly placed upon her head.

Kristin answering the door

We immediately started to assess the place and find our “photo ops”. Her girls wore lovely yellow silk chiffon dresses and the flowers were done by Heidi, as were, yesterdays, from Sugar Magnolias in Stony Brook. Kristin wore a beautiful dress by Sally Crew, that almost had the look of a vintage gown, all in lace.

the Gown!the

Her bouquet too, was tied with a piece of vintage lace from her grandmother. It made for a beautiful and sentimental touch.

The landscape was so pretty, everywhere you looked you could find a place to take photos. And, of course, the day was just beautiful with blue skies with not a cloud in sight, gentle breezes blowing, the smell of wine lingering in the air.

Just as we were finishing up the girls and tucking Kristin away inside the B & B so no one would see her, a car drove up with friends of James who were all done up in what only one could call was 70’s wedding attire complete with wigs of fake hair in different arrays of mullets (the kind of outfits I am embarrassed to say, friends of ours got married in, LOL, complete with two tone tuxedos and ruffled shirts)! It made for quite the conversation the whole night and boy, when I say these guys knew how to party, I kid you not. I have NEVER in all my life seen a group of guys who were as crazy and wild for hours on end. Oh and please checkout the guy in the first photo second from the right, does he or doesn’t he look like he could be one of the Wilson brothers as in Luke Wilson! LOL, I kept thinking everytime I looked at him that he looked just like them!
him and the the big University of Rhode Island crew!

James said they have always been like that and he loved associating with his friends from the University of Rhode Island. You could tell the camaraderie among them and it made for a good ole time. As I mentioned, the ceremony took place out in the fields among the grapes.

the bamboo chairs set with hydrangaesKristin and her dad do the walkthe ceremony set among the grapes

There was a lovely gazebo set among the chairs. Just as the ceremony was about to start, Kristin got teary eyed.

Jim gets ready to say his vowsthe girlsa tear forms

The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Hickman Alexandre of St. James Episcopal Church in Brookhaven. He said a warm and loving ceremony. The two adorable flowergirls, Grace and Charlotte, who were sisters and nieces of the groom, kept the guests attention as the one older child, Grace, yawned and appeared to be falling asleep,

first the rubbing of the eyes..........then comes the yawn...........

Charlotte, the smaller of the two, danced around the chairs and played peek a boo with her mom’s dress.

peek a boo...............

They couldn’t have been cuter if they tried. There were some light hearted laughs though during the ceremony as well. Had to take this shot of one of the groomsmen sans socks!

the guests share a laugh as the minister cracks a few jokesand some more...............how festive!

After the ceremony, being that Kristin and James wanted to keep their first siting of each other for the ceremony, we headed off to do the portraits and family photos. Now, I try not to give too much direction, so I said when we were taking the “guy” photo, “hey guys, maybe stand here near this barn with the wine casks and all, maybe a few of you can lean on each other, or hold your jacket over your shoulder, or even sit on a cask or put your foot up on one of the casks casual–like…………..” So this was their interpretation of “putting your foot up casual like on one of the casks”, well it does have their foot up, but not quite the “ballerina” pose I had envisioned, which naturally then all cracked everyone up!!!!!!!!!!!

the whole group!wine anyone?anyone say Plie`??????

So, then being that we were all laughing so hard, James says “let’s take a photo with the guys all stiff like posing!” I say “sure” and this is what we got then………………….

anyone say they wanted a stiffy, LOL?

When we do the girls with the groom or the bride with the guys, I always say to my wedding party, “hey this is your shot, you can do anything your little heart desires”, everyone interprets things in their own way, so without further adieu, here is the groom and the girls………………..

the groom with the ladies, yeah baby

And, finally some of our main attraction…………………….

The guests were then lead down to the main tent and asked to take their seating cards neatly displayed on wine casks set in corks.

Our happy twosome then entered the tent to cheers and clapping…………… Our bride’s sister, Elizabeth then gave a moving and touching toast………………..

Dinner was comprised of a buffet of chicken, beef and fish accompanied by mashed potatoes, a wonderful mixed salad, a cold corn salad and grilled veggies. For dessert, they had yummy carrot cake and cream cheese cupcakes as well as, yellow cake frosted with butter cream in the shape of flowers.

yummy..........cupcakes!now, that's not nice, Kristin, he gets last licks

As I said, the dance floor was jammed all night long and there was hardly any extra room if you tried. This past weekend, we had such fun groups. Not all weddings get down and crazy insane. But this party did, my oh my. There was so much going on, you didn’t know where to shoot. Here are just a few of the memorable shots fit to print, LOL………………………

all I can say is wow!our bride hoisted up in the air!our lovely bride and one of her bridesmaids

one of the crazy guests spinning our groom in the air no explanation needed on this one, LOLdon't even know WHAT to say about this one!

the girls.............this guy just spun on the floor a lot of the time

Some guests even took to dancing in the grass. Tables were set about on the great lawn with tiki torches set aglow.

another view of the tent

All in all, it was a beautiful affair. As the night began to wind down and the end was drawing near, I said to Kristin and James that in all my 20 years, I have never not hugged a couple goodnight as I would wish them bon voyage on their honeymoon, but, being that they had been so crazy, they were, well, how to say politely, a little more than a tad perspiring, LOL ………. so we just did a “Barack Obama” knuckle hit to each other and laughed. Best of luck to you guys, and enjoy the Hawaiian Islands, we’ll see you when you get back. To see more of their fabulous affair, please click here.

the wedding of lesia and jimmy

OK this wedding had the potential of becoming a real disaster as the groom came down with appendicitis the week before the wedding and had to have emergency surgery! Lesia came to our office to finish off the timing and all the other little things that can only be done the week before and told us of the ordeal and her nerves, but Jimmy recovered quickly and even got his groove on (and that’s an understatement) during the reception, LOL. Way to go………………….. As we arrived at her dad’s house, Lesia’s adorable dad cracked jokes with us and showed us all the plantings he had been busily doing for their portraits. He was a lot of fun. Meanwhile, Lesia was busily getting ready and was just finishing up her make by the wonderful Jacqueline Nicole of Pretty Me. We hadn’t seen Jackie since our daughter’s own wedding, so it was so nice to see her again and be the recipient of such a wonderful makeup application on our bride for our photography to shine through. We were quickly escorted by Lesia to the room that held “the dress”.

the Lesia getting

There it was, a beautiful, beaded, silk, Maggie Sottero couture gown, hanging from the ceiling in all it’s glory. We joked with the bride’s sister, Tania, how the dress has an entity all it’s own. Photos moved along nicely as Lesia and Jimmy had a huge wedding party of 12 girls and 12 guys, whew. We joked with Lesia that we had created a monster in that she was really getting into all our diva shots that we asked of her, but all joking aside, she was great.

Some girls just can go with the flow and really get into posing and put their inhibitions aside when you suggest different things to make photos better.

Heck she even laid down on a plank of wood near the water later at Lands End, when required to make the shot better. We knew from the moment we met them, that the photos were very important to both her and Jimmy. And, she made us feel so good as she said, she knew her photos would be beautiful and that she had no worries about us. So the pressure was on, but you guys were great to work with.

this couple would do anything, they were great!set upon the hillher veil blowing in the wind

Their church was the pretty St. John’s in Bohemia. That is where the poignant ceremony took place. Lesia was right on time to meet Jim. From the moment, Lesia walked down the aisle, it was evident, how much Jimmy loved her. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. He would just glance over and look at her face all the while the celebrant was talking.

a groom approves of his bridethe look of love

Every couple is in love on their wedding day, but some couples you can just see their love evident on their faces. That was the case with Lesia and Jimmy. Often throughout the day, I would hear him whisper something to her about how she looked, how much he loved her, etc. It was very warm and tender. Her sister sang a beautiful song to them and Jim gave her the high five sign when it was over to show their approval!

Our bride's sister sings to the happy couple a sign of approval for a job well done!

Our little ring bearer couldn’t make it through the whole ceremony and fell fast asleep in the pew.

ahhhh our ringbearer pooped out

A lot of Lesia’s students showed up to see her Cinderella moment and after the ceremony, we snapped a photo with quite a lot of them. Everyone spoke so highly of her as a teacher on the receiving line.

Lesia's students show up to see the brideand we're off

We then all headed off in the party bus to the always gorgeous and wonderfully tasteful, Lands End, in Sayville, to do their portraits and family photos. Being such a large group, there was always someone cracking jokes and improvising, even our groom and bride’s brother, Marek. I warned him to be good or I would have to write about him in my blog which gave Lesia a chuckle as she is a school teacher herself could sense my needling that they were going to have to sit in the “corner chair” if they didn’t behave, LOL.

The guys especially enjoyed having a little fun with us.

Cocktail hour was served on the deck beside the water as the night was simply gorgeous. Let me stop right here, and say something about Lesia, this girl has impeccable musical taste, LOL. We were talking with them post photos, and all of a sudden one of my all time fav bands came on their musical sound system, Guster. I remarked “oh my God, it’s Guster!” To which Lesia remarked “you like Guster?” I said, “heck, yeah…………..” Rich said “and they were playing Coldplay, Dave (a la Matthews, as all his groupies just call him by his one name acronym, LOL) , etc.” From then on, we knew musical selections a la Tommy Tunes were going to be a-ok, ha ha, and they were. The ballroom was looking gorgeous, I might add. All the tables were adorned with centerpieces of long stemmed calla lillies.

Then it was just about time for our couple to get the festivities rolling. The doors burst open and there they were all ready to have a super time.

Lesia and her whole family have strong Polish roots, which were evident throughout her party, starting with a traditional Polish salt ceremony followed by toasts from the maid of honor as well as, the best man.

Boy for a Thursday night, did this group know how to part - tay……………..who hoooo! They had the dance floor going up and down the whole night. The dj, the always good, Tommy Tunes, remarked to us during dinner that this was better than some Saturday night parties he has seen, LOL, and we had to agree.

Before you could say dinner, it was time for sweets and our happy couple to cut the cake, and then dance with the parents.

Then when all those formalities were done, we thought okay dessert and some more dancing, but oh no. Little did we know that when Lesia decided to throw her bouquet, her sister, Tania, would be the recipient. Then Jimmy threw the garter and one of the groomsmen caught it. Well, he put on such a show, likes of something we haven’t seen in quite some time. We and all the guests were hysterical at both of these guy’s dancing escapades. Let’s just say Chippendales has nothing on you guys. I love this pic of the groomsmen putting the garter on Tania’s leg, check out her laugh and his hand action with those splayed fingers!

Our happy couple are honeymooning in Greece for three weeks, lucky stiffs. Hey what is it with Greece, I have been dying to go and rent a sailboat like we did for our 25th wedding anniversary down in the British Virgin Islands and sail all throughout the Greek Isles.

sunset at Land's End

We have done some of the legwork and want to do this next August. Then, all of a sudden we have like three couples going to Greece just to torture me so I can be all envious and the like, no, only kidding, I can’t wait to hear ALL about it. If you want to see more of Lesia and Jimmy’s wedding, please click here. Enjoy!

my, oh my, haley turned 1!

Don’t know if you guys remember but one of our wedding couples, Jeremy and Jennifer, click here to see their gorgeous wedding, brought their new baby in to be photographed a while ago, named Haley. She was a sweetie pie to be sure. We did our newborn sitting and then Jen called us recently to update Haley’s pics as she had just turned one. She was a little shy with us for about 5 minutes, hanging on to mom’s leg, but then it was smooth sailing.

what a little stinker, sticking her tongue out, ha hahanging on to mom for dear life!now how do I get up on this thing?

Jen brought some props to use, as well as, some of our old standbys. And, peek a boo always works well with toddlers, LOL.

Haley playing peek a boodid someone say they wanted chai tea?time to read a story........
Jen came with Jeremy’s mom and they brought this adorable big cupcake along with the beach ball. Well, all Haley wanted was the ball at first. She wanted no part of her party hat with foo foo feathers nor the cupcake! Ha ha, you have to do what they want at this age, Jen.

just me and my ball..........anyone for some beach volleyball?alright, I'll wear the silly hat for one pic, but only one!

Well if you thought she was adorable then, you should see these pics of her now, my oh my, give her 18 years and she will be beating those boys off with a stick, LOL. So cute! And, she was just learning how to stand and had her first teeth,

all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.....ha ha, got you to laugh!now that is it, no more HAT! Geesch what I have to do for some photos....

you just want to kiss them to pieces at this age. They grow so fast, anyone with little ones, enjoy every last minute with them that you can. So without further adieu, here are Haley’s one year old birthday pics (and you got to love the little cake on her dress!). To see them all, please click here.

little brayden’s first outing (sort of)………..

You might all remember the gorgeous wedding of Lauren and Victor Demouth (click here to see it) at the Atlantica back on June 18, of 2006, Happy Two Year Anniversary you guys! Vic was stationed in Iraq for a while but has since returned safely home to Lauren and their families. Thanks, Vic, for your duty to our country! Well, I got some news one day on my facebook page, Lauren told me that she and Vic are expecting their first child in September.

ahhhh so cuteare these not the cutest nike baby sneakers???Lauren with the little duckie

Well, of course, I then prompted her that she just HAD to do a pregnancy shooting with us! LOL……………………a few e-mails back and forth and we were good to go. They are having……… [surprise]…….. a little boy! Lauren is beaming and looking simply gorgeous, I might add, as all new mothers-to-be naturally are!

Lauren beaminganyone for blocks?the new Mommy to Be

They are such a cute couple. She had called this past weekend with jitters and was afraid that her “baby bump” might not be sufficient in size quite yet. They live upstate and only get down to the island every couple of months. But upon her sending me a quick two shots she took herself of her “belly”, I assured her she would be just fine. So what do you all think, for 7 months, she looks pretty darn good, right? But I think little Brayden made a fine showing on his first outing, right?

the wedding of jennifer and steven

Jennifer was a good friend and the Maid of Honor of another one of our brides, Kristina. Kristina and James were married last November 4, 2007 at Atlantica. So it was nice to see Kristina again and she was now on the flip side as Jen’s Matron of Honor. Jen and Steve’s wedding took place on a beautiful but hot day at the Inn at East Wind. We met Steve first, however, at his parent’s home in Wading River. They have a gorgeous home and the guys were getting ready and hanging out sharing beers.

Steve and his Dad share a drink and a laughSteve holds their one of the adorable ring bearers

We took some family photos and the guys clowning around and then were off to the Inn to meet up with Jen and the girls as they were busily doing what the girls do! We took some photos of her getting ready in her beautiful Demetrios bridal gown and her sitting among all her tulle on the bed.

Jen gets ready to go to church

Jen was very emotional and the tears were flowing, LOL,

so emotional..............Jen gets teary eyed right before she comes down the aisleJen and her dad come down the aisle

both before the wedding and at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Port Jefferson. I love Greek ceremonies with all their pomp and flair. The church was packed on both sides and our little ringbearers, Menelaos and Charlie were emotional as well. It took some coaxing to even get them to go down the aisle in their mom’s arms! Our little flower girls weren’t too up on the idea either, LOL. But all went well. We had the traditional lighting of the tall white tapers symbolizing their readiness to accept a life of commitment and responsibility in marriage under Jesus Christ, the light of the world as well as, the crowning of our happy couple.

their sponsor puts on their rings three timesJen and Steve holding their long, white tapers

In Greek ceremonies, this is a highlight of the ceremony. The crowns are a sign of the glory and honor with which God crowns them during the wedding sacrament. They are the king and queen of their own little kingdom, the home, which they will be the keeper of. A lot of the traditions are done three times, which anyone knows in the Christian faith, the number 3 is very representative of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There are other traditions as well, but it really is beautiful to see if you have never been to a Greek Wedding Ceremony.

them taking their walk around the holy table

We then left the church to head out back east to the Inn for our family shots and our couple’s portraits.

petals get thrown!a toast to the happy couple

They were a big group, but a lot of fun. Being that Steve, our groom, was not a big fan of taking a lot of photos, we worked quickly to achieve our goals of capturing them with their friends so they could go on to the fabulous cocktail hour that only East Wind knows how to do so well. We even captured one of Jen and Steve with their “baby” who was brought up to the Inn especially to celebrate with his mom and dad, (albeit all decked out in his tux)!

ahhhhhthe happy couple walking arm in arm

aren't they so cute & happy?the happy couple share a laugh

They had the whole downstairs set up with a steel drum player performing calypso music as well as, a wine bar, fruit, pastas, assorted meats, Italian specialties, Greek specialties, a raw bar, and anything else you could imagine. The room was set up with large vases of calla lilies at each table to match the girls bouquets.

The cake a beautiful confection of fondant, also displayed calla lilies upon it in gum paste set with rhinestone initials of the happy couple.

The night was split between music of today and yesteryear as well as, Greek music and festive traditional folk dances where our happy couple is sprinkled with money thrown in the air by all who love them, all the while they circle the dance floor.

new family members join the dance time to clean up the dance floor!

It was such a fun wedding to take part in with all the culture of Steve’s families.

Our happy couple then were off at the end of the night for a fabulous honeymoon in Hawaii. I can’t wait to talk to you guys about what a great time you had when you return. If you want to see more of Jennifer and Steven’s wedding, please click here.

the wedding of danielle and jared

Wow, wow, wow, is all I can say about this wedding. I know, I know, I say that in every blog, but really, check out this bride? Is she not beautiful or what? Danielle wore a Justina McCaffrey haute couture gown that was to die for.

her gown label

Danielle’s mom had come to book us and we had never met either Danielle or Jared until the wedding day. We arrived to find Danielle going over the flowers that had just arrived from James Cress Florists in Smithtown,

Danielle's bouquet

that were to be delivered to church. Her hair was done and she was fleeting her and there like a bumble bee with her veil hanging by a hanger! I asked to view her gown for photo ops only to find it hidden behind a bedroom door with a sign on it that read “Jared, dad and Bobby DO NOT ENTER!” (Bobby being her brother).

the Danielle in the upstairs hallway

Danielle posing on mom's bed, quite the diva, don't you think?Danielle by the front door

I did my photos of the gown and then we quickly retreated to her mom’s master bedroom all done up in warm beiges and golds which complimented the girls’ mocha color dresses. Danielle had to book a party bus upon learning that they had one called the “Princess Daniela”! ha ha.

the

We didn’t leave the house for the church though, before taking a few pics of Danielle in her, get this, dad’s first car ever, a 1970 purple Dodge Challenger, which I have to say, was in gorgeous condition.

Dad's first car

Her girls in the wedding party said this was a rare site indeed to even see the car outside of the garage! LOL………………..We then all proceeded to the church, which just happened to be St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Patchogue, which is our home parish as well.

Danielle and dad as they share a smile with mom coming down aisle

They had Fr. Kevin Smith who is leaving us for a new parish in Dix Hills. Sorry to see you go Fr. Kevin. Being that Jared was of the Jewish faith, they also had a Rabbi proceeding as well, Rabbi Roger Ross. We all shared laughs as Jared [also my son’s name ;-) ] remarked to the crowd and Rabbi Ross, as he commented on the ring’s beauty, something to the affect that Danielle had trained him well in the dept. of jewelry and rings, as her ring was gorgeous,

Danielle receiving ringreceiving her ring

not to mention the new diamond stud earrings she was sporting another gift from Jared. Not to be outdone, Jared’s new Rolex,

pretty sweet

a gift from Danielle, was equally beautiful. Another laugh came when the Rabbi had Jared break the glass and then unbeknownst to the new organist, the tune for them to leave began. Fr. Kevin and Robyn, the musical director, waved to the organist that they weren’t finished quite yet with the ceremony. The organist stopped playing the leaving song, only for everyone to hear Fr. Kevin exclaim to Rabbi Ross that he had “home turf advantage” and would be the one to close the ceremony with their first kiss! Everyone went hysterical.

We had three hours inbetween the church and Giorgio’s fabulous cocktail hour so we opted to visit a beach upon near there. The wedding party was escorted by golf carts. It was a hot day and we were hysterical as the best man, Geoff Benedik, a friend of the groom, kept blotting the sweat from Jared’s brow.

But they were troopers as it is not easy to trot down the beach full of rocks on the north shore of Long Island past all the beachcombers. Once we got into position, Jared kept us laughing the whole time. We then escorted Jared and Danielle back to Giorgios while George brought the rest of the wedding party back in a few trips. Then it was off to the beautiful gardens to do a few family picks that were on Danielle’s list.

The night was perfect for the outside cocktail hour set on the deck. It was packed with guests as they all clambored to be outside on such a beautiful evening. We were blessed with the sounds of New York Swing, be sure to check them out anyone searching for a band as they are wonderful. We always laugh as the trumpet player wears the most fascinating and jazzy shoes I have ever seen, as they are black and white checked spats,

none of which I have ever seen in a store. He told us he has had them for some time and they add such a touch of flair. I kid you not, everyone notices this guy’s shoes! The guests dined on a choice of Prime Rib of Beef, Chicken Wellington, Veal Scallopine a la Mona Lisa, Penne in a Pomodoro Sauce or, lastly, Mahi Mahi. George’s food is always spectacular as any of the guests can testify to. You always hear ooohs and aahhhs as you comb your hair and adjust your make-up in the ladies room.

My couple did not stop dancing from the moment they entered the room.

Another great moment was when the Matron of Honor, the Maid of Honor and the Best Man gave their toasts. Geoff’s was simply hilarious as he opened with the line that “both our parents were just so glad to find out after we spent so much time together, that we weren’t gay afterall,” not that there is anything wrong with that in the words of the great Jerry Seinfeld!

Jared’s mom, Linda, was always laughing and sure did have a good time along with all of our guests.

not that that title was owned by Marissa, as Jared proves

Then before you know it, like with every wedding, the time draws near and dessert time is here. Why is it that every time someone serves someone something to eat and feeds the person, the person doing the feeding, opens their mouth too?

A highlight of the evening for me, was Danielle’s dance with her dad.

Dance with good ole dad

a gift from Danielle to her dadDoes every bride own this dvd????

We knew it would be a touching and moving moment of the wedding, as we had seen at the house, the photos and trinkets of love given by Danielle to her dad all over their home. Well, our lucky couple is honeymooning at three Greek Islands, of which Santorini, my personal favorite, is one. If you want to catch more of their beautiful affair, please click here and enjoy!

julie and bo’s engagement series

Been busy lately with weddings, weddings, weddings–not to mention a lot of engagement shootings, pregnancy shootings, new babies, first communion shoots, family portraits and you name it, we are doing it! But it’s fun. Some make it on the web and blog and some don’t (sniff, sniff) as some couples are shy, but the ones that do, I hope you all enjoy. I love the new babies as well, as they are usually our wedding couples expanding their little families. Anyway we are doing a fabulous wedding that we booked through our good friend and terrific wedding consultant, Claire Bean, whose company is CB Florals out in Westhampton Beach. It is down in Palm Beach, Florida at the gorgeous Everglades Club. It will be a destination wedding for us for the whole weekend, and we are more than excited. Anyway, we got a chance to finally meet, Julie and Bo, our couple, to do their engagement series. They compliment each other beautifully, as Julie is effervescent and bubbly and Bo, tends to be more quiet and reserved. We had a lot of fun talking about all their wedding plans, and the lucky couple will be honeymooning in Dubai as well as, one of my favorite places, the Maldives. Being that they work, go to school and reside in NYC, we opted for a Central Park shooting.

The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful as it was right after that heat wave of last week. Julie kept up in her heels and was a trooper even when Rich asked them to lay down on a hard slab of rock for a shot. I was like, “what were you thinking!” That is hard.

can you see them in pain, LOL!

But always the troopers, they agreed to do anything for a pic. We met them outside of my favorite spot, why the Plaza of course,

a stroll by the plazaaren't they cute and so in love

the place Rich and I spent our first night of our wedding! After we left Julie and Bo we were feeling a little nostalgic as well as, romantic, and, so, we opted to do a buggy ride as we were supposed to do that the morning after our wedding and what else, it rained way back in Aug. of ‘79. So yes, 29 years later, we did it, and it was fabulous! Anyway, here are some of our fav’s from Julie and Bo’s engagement.
